Boo!

Cinema Fantasma is an exemplary group. Their absolute passion for animation cinema leads them to invent new forms of production and financing. Definitely a group to consider: creative, free, and full of vitality.

Cinema Fantasma's Demo Reel

Cinema Fantasma is a stop-motion studio located at Mexico City.

We are a company integrated by creatives with one common vision: through the playful usage of cinematographic language and the multidisciplinary work spirit, create what we would like to see on screen.

We make films, tv series, animation, special effects, commercial bumpers, visual experimentation, art toys, audiovisuals, and other artistic projects.

We are from Mexico and we want to do something for our country.

The Ambriz Brothers

Mexican writers, directors, and producers, and founders of Cinema Fantasma, a leading stop-motion animation studio based in Mexico City. They wrote and directed the acclaimed stop-motion medium-length film Revoltoso (Rebellius) and the award-winning series Frankelda’s Book of Spooks (Max, 2021). They recently completed their debut feature film, I Am Frankelda — Mexico’s first stop-motion feature — which will premiere at Annecy 2025. Currently, they are in pre-production on their next feature film, Ballad of the Phoenix. They also produced the animated series Women Wearing Shoulder Pads for Adult Swim.
